Marc Jacobs

These are very sweet. They seem to me like the 40's, a full skirt, a wide belt, polka dots maybe, and a soldier on your arm. The front is very nice, a classic criss-cross with a surprising cut out. I love the contrasting seams. But my favorite part is the little jump in the back, the slight V it makes before it curves around your achilles. It's that extra something special that makes them take a second look. I'd wear them with the aforementioned dress, belt, and WWII era soldier.

But most importantly, do not forget a pair of great stockings. Pale pink or sheer white, preferably with seams or RHT!
And of course a thin ankle bracelet!

Hi Alyssa,

These are just like the shoes my Grandmother and Great Aunts used to wear in old family photographs from the 40's and early 50's.

They are also like the one's my mother used to wear in the late 70's and early 80's (before the dreaded 'trainers with everything casual look!) when there was a 40's revival complete with pencil skirts, seamed stockings, airhostess and pillbox style hats (the latter even with little net veils). I was a very young small child and from my perspective I was fascinated by my mother's, aunt's and their 'ladies who lunch' friends shoes; I have a soft spot for this style in particular which gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside and reminds me of their expensive fragranced authoritative and 'painted lady' goddess like image.

Mike

PS:- I was in the Officer Cadet Corps at school, will I do as your WWII soldier?
