Hello Shoe People! For the 3rd year running I will be participating in the 24 Hour Blogathon for charity on July 26th starting at 6 a.m. I hope you will sponsor me as I stay awake for 24 hours straight, posting to my website (Musings section) every thirty minutes, and getting hopped up on caffeine. I'm blogging for the Global Fund For Women again, a noble cause that supports women's human rights organizations around the world.

As usual I'll be posting my "Shoe of the Hour" every hour on the half hour. This year to change it up a little they'll all be my own shoes, on my own feet, pictures taken during the blogathon. And for my occasional detractors--I will be getting a pedicure the day before! Please go to my sponsorship page and pledge, pledge, pledge! And if you'd like to see me in a mule one hour or a saucy little kitten heel, sponsor me for $5 or more and send your request! I'll even wear the shoes for the rest of the hour and post occasional poses.

I saw the black version of these first and they were nice. Good suede. A sky-high heel. And stitching that would say hippie on any other shoe, but on these it suggests the wearer isn't so sophisticated she wouldn't kick them off at the right moment. And then I saw the pink ones. Mmm, mama. I'd wear them with any range of outfit--from basic black to give it a kick to a demure peasant blouse and knee-length skirt.

Platforms still!!?

Whatever, - I quite like platforms on high heeled sandals and mules (slides) they still look 'right' somehow; probably because we are used to classic 'poolside posing' wooden clog type mules which have a platform as a matter of construction.

Platforms also enable the heel to be higher of course and higher heels are always visually sexier due to cultural conditioning apart from their female body form enhancing effect.

Pink is fine, despite the weakening effect of this colour on the muscle strength of the observer (the 'disarming' effect of 'ladies in pink' is not merely myth!), but black suede (like a pantheress) would be much sexier particularly with scarlet nail varnish!

Now that would give a kick! - and threaten one as well!

"Kick me" said the masochist;
"NO!" said the sadist!
