Hello Shoe People! For the 3rd year running I will be participating in the 24 Hour Blogathon for charity on July 26th starting at 6 a.m. I hope you will sponsor me as I stay awake for 24 hours straight, posting to my website (Musings section) every thirty minutes, and getting hopped up on caffeine. I'm blogging for the Global Fund For Women again, a noble cause that supports women's human rights organizations around the world.

As usual I'll be posting my "Shoe of the Hour" every hour on the half hour. This year to change it up a little they'll all be my own shoes, on my own feet, pictures taken during the blogathon. And for my occasional detractors--I will be getting a pedicure the day before! Please go to my sponsorship page and pledge, pledge, pledge! And if you'd like to see me in a mule one hour or a saucy little kitten heel, sponsor me for $5 or more and send your request! I'll even wear the shoes for the rest of the hour and post occasional poses.

Nordstrom but who?

I'm embarassed to say that once again I failed to note whose shoes these are. I found them at Nordstrom--aren't they fantastic? Not your average mule, not only do they have a sky high heel--impossible to walk in but oh so lovely. But the truly unique aspect is the cutouts. Better than just straps, they turn your foot into art. I'd wear these with a little black dress and some dangly rhinestones.

You really are a sensual creature aren't you Alyssa!

These are fantastic; - mind you I did have to 'right click' "copy", open up Microsoft Photo Editor and "Edit" "paste as new image" so that I could use "Image Balance" to adjust the "Gamma", to see them properly. It was only then that I could see and appreciate the awesome stiletto heel!

How about putting on some red nail varnish, driving the heel through a juicy red apple so that the tip comes out the other side, the white juice frothing around the top and running down the outside of the apple, standing with all of your weight on that foot so that your strong muscles and sinews tighten the smooth skin of your foot and calf and taking a proper high definition spot lit photograph.

The title? :-

"Twenty-first Century Eve - The Revenge of Lilith!"

This would make a strong positive statement of modern 'femininity' for your charity.

I'll pledge £10 to see this.

Ciao Gorgeous

Mike

Ah Mike...Well, I can promise you the red polish and I can attempt the heel through the apple, but I don't have a spotlight--is a flash ok? If that's good enough for you, go to http://www.blogathon.org/sponsorsignup.php?p=111 and pledge!

Hi Alyssa,

Thanks for your reply and the opening address, "Ah Mike..."; so much more direct and personal than the usual "Hi Mike", it reaches out across 'cyberspace' and veritably touches one! People had mentioned this phenomenon to me before but this is the first time that I have experienced it. Thanks for that Alyssa, if we never meet in cyberspace again (myself being a little weird for many people's taste!), I shall treasure it!

"Ah Mike..."? - you've no idea how many ways someone can analyse an arrangement of two words and three full-stops (periods), was this:-
"Ah, - how sweet (you pathetic jerk)"; or, "ah, - I might have known! (I've tried to ignore you before, hoping you'll go away, but I suppose I'll have to talk to you now.)"; or, "Ah, er.. yes well er.. (this is all a bit 'kinky' for my liking and I'm not sure I want to get into that sort of thing)"; - or was it....was it, "Ah Mike...I believe I may have heard from you before but this is the first time I've really noticed you (mmmm... this has +ve possibilities for the image of women, keep up the good work, - please me again and we may talk again - striding confidently off to your private office)"?

Whatever, I have of course pledged my sponsorship for your blogothon (for your eyes only concita!). The flash will have to do, though you may need a 'backdrop'.

However, I would ask that when driving the heel slowly through Adam's fruit, remember how:- Lilith was rejected by Adam for refusing to be subservient; how Eve (Lilith's replacement), who gave Adam the fruit of knowledge has enabled men to flourish and yet this very female given knowledge has been used to subjugate women; and, the final indignity, how the blame for it all has been placed upon women for Eve having given the knowledge in the first place!

Of course, it's only a story, a metaphor, - so is the apple! Alyssa, as your Dionysian heel is poised ready to sink into it's engorged 'flesh', imagine (no Alyssa, - really imagine, ...visualize!) that it is the collective gonads of the whole male sex; think of all the injustices done to women over the eons, feel the stirrings of your powerful 'chthonian' (Paglia, 1993) nature and pay it back with feeling, your ears ringing with their sounds of anguish!

Feel the catharsis! - and be free.............

Mike
