These new pointed (or "pointy" if you like!) toe shoes are not difficult to wear; the new long points give much more room for your toes than the short points of the eighties and late fifties and early sixties. There was a long pointed style of shoe back in the early sixties called a "winkle-picker" in the UK. It didn't seem to take off in the 'States' though (just as platforms didn't in the seventies) because American women were obsessed with the idea of the 'small foot'. It's true that the long points can make your feet seem a little larger but so what, they are more in keeping with today's sexually aggressive and confident post-feminism and surely no-one believes the connection to the size of a more private part of the anatomy anymore!

I wear long points (like the ones pictured) with 3.5 to 4.0 inch stiletto heels (the new pencil ones) all the time; and as a college tutor I'm on my feet most of the time. This is not unusual in the UK. My husband, a University lecturer, tells me that a large proportion (30 - 40%) of his female Business Studies students wear boots like this day in day out!

I have a gorgeous pair of Pura Lopez points with tiny half inch stud heels...... really scrummy!! The points are very long but they just make my feet look more in proportion with the rest of me... I'm 5foot 7inches tall with size 4(UK) feet!!

I just came back from Majorca, Spain and tried on a pair of Pura Lopez twice I passed on getting. Unfortunately, I haven't stopped thinking about them since I left Spain and want to try and find a way to buy them online or order over the phone. I have a couple of pairs of Pura Lopez slingbacks with very pointed toes, one pair from England and the other from Casas in Barcelona. The shoes are actually made in Alicante I believe. I agree with Shirley, long points are much more comfortable than the eighties style short points ,and I would love to find even longer ones if possible .They don't make your feet look big, they just make you look like you're wearing long points.Duh! Anyway who ever heard of short fat feet looking sexy?

Just walk down the main shopping street in Barcelona-I think it's Av. de les Drassanes, one street over from Las Ramblas which is for less serious shopping. I think nearly every shoe store I went into had Pura Lopez.

There is a store on about 39th and 7th St. in NYC
called Good Choice also on 8th ave in the West Village there's a whole row of stores on ONE BLOCK!!! some carry Pura Lopez some dont. You can occasionally find them in Nordstroms.

Hello Everybody, Can somebody tell me why Pura Lopez doen't make 4" heeld shoes, most of their models are 2" to 3" maximum 3.5"? I think that a 4" is the best hight for a Heel, I would say it is just on the limit between the buty and the pain in a nice promenade. Thank You.

huge pura fan. i shamelessly own 12 pairs! i've recently just moved from singapore to london and can't seem to find pura anywhere!!! very annoying. but if any of you are going east, and decide to stop off in singapore, you can find pura's in CK TANG's designer shoe section or at HUE in SCOTT'S Shopping Centre. If you go in August, you may even get them at super discounts. that's how i ended up with so many pairs... the sale price was equiv of US$25 or £15 which is helluva bargain.

I just bought my first pair of pura lopez- only YESTERDAY and am already a big fan-that's why I'm on the site. I wanted to find out much more about the designer. My favorite shoe store (Hørlyck) in Aarhus, Denmark carries a good selection of her shoes. I bought mine because although I have a small foot, it is wide and pura lopez seemed to make a wide variety in 36C.
