I'm participating in the 24 Hour Blogathon for charity. I'm staying awake for 24 hours straight, posting to my website every thirty minutes, and getting hopped up on caffeine! I'm blogging for the Global Fund For Women, a noble cause that supports women's human rights organizations around the world. I hope to make them lots of money. Please sponsor me by clicking on the box to your left or on this link.
Sites of interest:
http://www.standardimagination.com/fictionfight/ a lot of writing by people more ambitious than I.
http://ghanima.diaryland.com/ somebody else ambitiously writing fiction--and blogging for the Global Fund too.
I've been looking for this site all night: http://petulant_scream.blogspot.com/ She posts bad pickup lines and a little bad spelling on her part.
I'm surprised at how many people have nothing to say at this hour. Well, not surprised, but interested. I've been trolling the webring seeing what's out there. A lot of people like me, though at least I have shoes to post. Hmm, surely there's something to talk about. What were Mom's suggestions 12 hours ago?
Summer movies, she suggested. She knows I see a lot of movies. I think the last one I saw was The Swimming Pool. Very interesting movie about a British mystery writer who goes to her publisher's house in France because she's feeling creatively bereft. After she's there for a little bit, his wild French illegitimate daughter arrives and moves into the house, too. It's very interesting. I still find myself pondering it and saying "hm".
Before that I saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which was an entertaining movie that could have been better, but was good for a summer action pic. Actually had some substance and literary references. Assumes the audience has at least read a few things in their lives.
Before that I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. A great time. Johnny is fabulous and Orlando Bloom gets pretty Errol Flynn-y by the end. A good pirate romp. We haven't had one of those for awhile.
Maybe I'll keep talking about movies in the next post after the shoe. Seems to be perking me up a bit. Hee. Time to post again. Come back for the 3:30 shoe.Posted by Alyssa at July 27, 2003 03:00 AM
