I love William H. Macy. It's almost boring for me to go see him now because he's so consistently good every time I see him. Ok, well, no, he's not boring. He's wonderful. And he's great in this film. He plays a man with such incredibly bad luck that he's been hired by a casino to cool down players on hot streaks, merely by standing next to them. Then he falls in love with a cocktail waitress and suddenly his luck seems to be changing.
Great acting all around in this film--WHM, Maria Bello, and the wonderful Alec Baldwin as the casino boss. It's a good script. There are surprises, there's depth, there's old-Vegas style. Very very enjoyable film. Highly recommended.
