The
funniest movie I've seen in ages. Oscar Wilde's play amazingly never
loses its impressive wry comic edge, no matter how much time passes.
I laughed harder during this movie than I can remember laughing at any
modern movie in years. My friend Susan and I went together and missed
about half of the movie due to our laughter. It was a great feeling.
The acting is fabulous--I would go see Colin Firth and Rupert Everett
reading the phone book, never the less saying Wilde's lines. The two
of them are so incredibly cute together. Reese Witherspoon holds her
own, despite being on unsure footing. Frances O'Connor, who was so great
in Mansfield Park, makes up the 4th member of the party. I'd go see
this again in a heartbeat. Even if just to hear Rupert and Colin singing
the credits out...
